CARBON FOOTPRINT (CF)
Assistance to the enterprises for the calculation of carbon footprint
A CF is an estimate of the sum of all the GHGs emitted throughout the life-cycle of a product or a service (end-to-end) or of parts thereof (until the factory gates).
The elaboration of the carbon footprint comprises:
• Defining the scope of the study;
• Raising the awareness of the actors/stakeholders;
• Collecting data in big emission poles;
• Presenting the results and a pre-diagnosis report;
• An operational action plan relating to the reduction of greenhouse gases emission;
• A study report detailing the carbon footprint;
• A training on the measurement tool of the greenhouse gases.
This type of carbon footprint is strongly inspired by the approach suggested by ADEME, as well as the ISO 14064 standard.
The specific objective of this activity is to support the enterprise in calculating the carbon footprint for a company belonging to the industrial sector, for a 5-month support period.
The 5 phases of the project
The 5 phases planned in this activity are summed up in the following table:
• Visit to the site to be audited: identify the investigation scope
• Make sure of the availability of data
• Sensitizing the parties involved in the enterprise
• Collecting data by big emission poles
• Meticulous presentation of the results
• The experts will present a pre-diagnosis report
Responsible staff: - Experts specialized in PCF;
• Supporting trainers
Deliverables: - A pre-diagnosis report
• A study report
Implementation period: 5 months
